Greek Walnut Cake with Semolina (Karidopita)
We prepare the syrup by boiling all the ingredients for 15 minutes and then we let it cool down. We beat the sugar in the mixer with the eggs. We add the melted margarine, the flour, the semolina, the walnuts and the baking powder. We put the mixture on an oiled baking pan and we bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius for about 40 minutes. We spread the warm walnut pie with the cold syrup.
