Directions

For the filling, peel the oranges, boil them and change the water twice, beat them in the blender, and boil them together with the sugar on low heat. Melt the chocolate together with the milk and mix them all together and add the orange essential oil. For the easter bread, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and add some of the flour and let it rise. In a bowl put sugar, salt, herbs, and hot milk and mix. Add the eggs and the yeast and then add the flour slowly and then the hot butter and let it rest for about an hour. Divide the dough into four parts, share the filling, shape them as we prefer, let them rise, spread them with the egg yolk and bake at 200 C for 15-20 minutes. Be careful not to overbake.

  • 2 kg MILLS OF CRETE Bun flour
  • 200 gr yeast
  • 240 gr lukewarm water
  • 700 gr sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp grated mahlepi
  • 2 orange zest
  • 450 gr melted butter
  • 10 eggs
  • 240 gr hot milk

  • 250 γρ. bitter chocolate
  • 3 oranges
  • 3 drops Essential oil Orange BIOXYM
  • 30 ml cognac
  • 100 ml Vero Cretan Goat milk
  • 100 gr sugar
