Directions

We prepare the syrup by boiling all the ingredients for 15 minutes and then we let them cool down. We mix all the ingredients for the dough together until it becomes uniform and elastic and we let it rest for half an hour. Then we roll the dough, not too thin and we cut it into 8×6 cm strips. With our fingers we press exactly in the middle of each strip and this is how the bow is made. We fry in hot oil until they get a golden color. We dive them for a while in the syrup and we sprinkle them with cinnamon and coarsely chopped nut.

  • 1 coffee cup Cretan Raki
  • 5 gr baking powder
  • FOR THE SYRUP

  • 400 gr sugar
  • 250 gr water
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 1 coffee cup cognac
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • FOR THE DECORATION

  • 10 gr cinnamon
  • 180 gr coarsely chopped walnut
