We beat the butter with the sugar very well and then we add the eggs. We mix the flour with the baking powder (or alternatively we use self rising flour), salt and vanilla and we mix the two mixes together. We let the dough rest for 15 minutes, we open the dough and we cut into the shapes we want. (For an easy opening, we put a piece of membrane when opening the dough.) We place in a baking sheet and we bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes. We open the sugar paste on a sheet and we cut it into the shapes we want. We spread the cookies with jam and we decorate them with sugar paste.
