Directions

We beat the egg whites well until they become a meringue. In a bowl, we beat the olive oil with the sugar and then we add the yolks. We add all the remaining ingredients (except for the meringue) and we mix until the mixture is homogenized. We pour the meringue into the mixture and we mix gently. We put the mixture in an oiled baking dish and we bake in a moderately preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes until it browns. For the syrup, we put all the ingredients in the pot and we boil until the sugar melts. When the sweet is cooled down, we cut into squares. We spread with the warm syrup.
