Directions

Warm the milk slightly and dissolve the yeast in it along with a little sugar. Add the flour, the sugar, the egg, the salt, and finally the softened butter. Knead in the mixer until the dough becomes smooth and elastic, then let it rise for 1 hour. Roll out the dough to about 1.5 cm thickness, cut out rings, and let them rise again for 30 minutes. Fry in medium-hot oil until golden and drain well. Sprinkle with sugar or glaze as desired.
